Listening from the ground

Robert Bringhurst and Tim Lilburn write from a tradition where language comes not from the human mind, but from the land itself.  This led me to wonder what it would be like to interweave our human-created texts (symbolizing lore, language, stories, and human concerns) with those of the forest in a manner of mutual dialogue, integrating the patterns of writing with those of the woods.  The interweaving itself proved challenging, but I continued to be intrigued by ways of combining these elements.  For me, the searching question of how we might be open to the language of the land - rather than imposing our own - continues.
